Ephemeral Intimacy is a performance in which I transcribe every first messages received on the location-based social networking and dating app, Grindr.

Using the color blue, as incoming messages one receives on the application, the series of works from Ephemeral Intimacy performance explore the disappearance of refinement, lack of effort in seduction between gay men and the impact on body and metal health generated by the advent of this new communication channel.

From classical epistolary relationships to outdoor/bar cruising, the life of the common gay men has been impacted in many ways throughout time and created all sorts of traumas.

Always looking for a way to generate sexually driven encounters, those dating apps should have been an opportunity to mingle and meet new people as well as bonding on an intellectual level.

On the contrary, these ‘social’ apps created loneliness and mental health issues such as body dysmorphia, self confidence issues, addiction, anxiety, depression and isolation.
